Main Purpose of the job
The Head of Procurement is responsible for overseeing the procurement activities of the company, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality services at competitive prices. This role involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, risk management, data analysis and the continuous improvement of procurement processes. A strong focus on supply chain analysis across our brands to help focus Innovus on shaping business strategy and potential areas of growth and opportunity.
The Head of Procurement will lead a team of procurement professionals and work closely with other departments to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
Position in Organisation
The role reports to the Director of Business Services and will have 1 direct report, overseeing a procurement team of 10.
Main Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Leadership
Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives.
Lead and manage the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Monitor and analyse market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best value for the company.
Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Procurement Operations
Oversee the entire procurement process from requisition to payment.
Ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
Implement procurement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage the procurement budget and ensure cost savings and efficiency.
Analyse procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and report on key metrics.
Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting.
Identify business opportunities through the supply chain for Innovus to be able to support organic growth across the Emeria group.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate supply chain risks.
Conduct regular audits and assessments of procurement activities.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with key stakeholders in the Emeria group to understand and fulfil their procurement needs and business opportunities for Innovus.
Act as a liaison between the procurement team and other stakeholders.
Support business development by providing procurement expertise and insights.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
* Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement long-term procurement strategies.
* Leadership: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
* Collaboration: Excellent ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
* Integrity: Commitment to ethical procurement practices and compliance.
* Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
* Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
* Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
