Management Accountant, Hinckley, Leicestershire
Your new company
My client is a successful manufacturing company close to Hinckley in Leicestershire. Due to restructure, they have a vacancy for an exceptional Management Accountant to join their team and report to an inspirational Finance Director.
Your new role
1. Manage the transactional Finance team, including Sales Ledger and Purchase Ledger
2. Ensure that transactions are recorded and reports delivered in a timely and accurate manner
3. Partner with the business, ensuring the business has information required for day-to-day operations and key decision-making
4. Prepare monthly management accounts; P&L, Balance Sheet (including all reconciliations) and Cash Flow
5. Daily and weekly KPI's
6. Ensure financial controls are in place to safeguard the business, particularly bank payments; currency and FX variances
7. Stock control - valuation and aged analysis; review and follow up any slow-moving stock
8. Prepare and process VAT returns for the UK and Europe
9. Provide all information and analysis for the external audit; assist with other audits required for the business
10. Assist with statutory accounts; budgets & forecasts; cash flow projections
11. Identify and drive improvements to streamline and document processes and controls (including cross-functional impact) and efficiency savings
What you'll need to succeed
1. Part or fully qualified accountant or QBE
2. Strong commercial acumen
3. Results oriented, with good organisational and problem-solving skills
4. Team management skills, leading and developing others
5. Strong analytical and Excel skills are essential, with the ability to transfer raw data into meaningful information for senior management.
6. Good understanding of business processes, ERP and systems
7. Experience of working in a multi-currency environment and managing exchange risk
8. Tax knowledge/experience, including VAT
