3rd Line Support Engineer / Windows Server Technician - Gatwick, West Sussex / Hybrid £40,000 - £45,000 plus excellent benefits & training / Flexible, hybrid working in their Gatwick based office A cutting edge data centre solutions provider seek an experienced 3rd Line Support Engineer / Windows Server Technician to join their team in Gatwick, West Sussex. Ideally you will have excellent 3rd line Support experience with Windows Servers, and have the focus to want to move into the cloud, as they will provide training to equip you for future support of AWS. Due to the level of clients they work with, having SC Clearance is desirable but you must at least be willing to go through it, if not obtained already (they will arrange and pay for this). Role requirements for the 3rd Line Support Engineer / Windows Server Technician position: They are looking for a skilled 3rd Line Engineer for Windows Servers to join our team. In this position, you will be involved in diverse projects, assisting clients in maximizing the capabilities of Windows Servers and other support technologies. This role, rooted in a service desk function, will require you to provide crucial support for Windows infrastructure. Additionally, they will provide training to equip you for future support of AWS. Key responsibilities for the 3rd Line Support Engineer / Windows Server Technician position: Take calls, answer emails, and correspond with customers using our Service Management tool. 3rd line Support for Windows Servers. Identify and resolve technical issues, providing root cause analysis and preventative solutions. Maintain comprehensive documentation of environments, configurations, and processes. Implement and maintain security best practices, ensuring data protection and compliance with industry standards. Create and update knowledge articles. Accurately log, categorise, prioritise, and assign tickets to other departments. Collaborate effectively with clients and other providers. Diligently follow agreed processes. Manage and follow-up tickets and queues to ensure SLAs are met. Make configuration changes to the Service Management tool. Carry out detailed testing of own, and others’, configuration changes. Give outstanding customer service, promote, and advance the standing of the Service Desk. Work flexibly in a rota to cover 8 am to 6pm Monday to Friday. Qualifications required for the 3rd Line Support Engineer / Windows Server Technician position: Ideally you will hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, Business Studies, or a related field is desirable. Relevant 3rd line Windows Server Experience or certification. 1-2 years minimum proven experience as an 3rd line Engineer or similar role. Understand, and be able to deliver, exceptional customer service. Highly organised: ensuring all follow-up actions are completed. Able to manage personal workload and multiple tasks. Methodical, accurate and thorough; even under pressure. Flexible, team player - willing to undertake a variety of roles and challenges. The Technology used within the role of 3rd Line Support Engineer / Windows Server Technician - Strong knowledge of Windows Servers, e.g. Networking, OS deep dive, Hardening, AD Administration, Networking and Security, Storage, Backup\Recovery, Documentation and best practices in windows architecture. The Road Map: Whilst they expect you to be the final authority for all Windows issues, they want to take you on to a journey into the cloud. They will train you up in AWS so over time you can fully support AWS. Please note, the initial period of hire during the SC clearance process will be 5 days a week in office, but this is also an opportunity for upskilling and training provided.
