Temporary Crime Investigator

Pay Rate: £18.46 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 12 months

NB: Police Vacancy - only for candidates with a minimum of 3 years continuous UK address history. Please note that this vacancy is subject to a strict security vetting procedure.
As PIP 1/2 Investigators, you will support the team who have responsibility for the investigations and perform a key function in pursuing lines of enquiry to help to prove/disprove the allegations and keep victims safe. You will thoroughly investigate allegations in order to bring any potential offenders to justice and help ensure the safety of the general public.
Key duties:
1. Using excellent communication skills to reassure a victim or witness then secure a witness statement from them as well as putting safety measures in place to prevent them from harm.
2. The collection or submission of items for forensic examination which may ultimately contain the evidence to secure a conviction of a dangerous offender.
3. The securing and viewing of CCTV which may capture footage that holds the investigative key to charging a suspect.
4. Supporting the creation of files for court where attention to detail and detailed knowledge of the case will help lead to a successful prosecution and lengthy term of imprisonment for the offender.
Key requirements:
1. Experience of criminal justice procedures, criminal investigations
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable sharing both positive and difficult news.
3. Skills to deal with challenging situations involving vulnerable adults.
4. Proven initiative and problem-solving skills.
5. Proficient IT skills.
6. Able to work under pressure, solve problems and prioritise your workload.
7. Ability to plan, organise and complete tasks within tight deadlines.
8. Demonstrate attention to detail.
