The Role: Operations Manager (Manufacturing)

What You’ll Do:
The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products while meeting customer demands and maintaining a safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and best practices.
Key responsibilities:
* Develop and implement strategic plans to optimise manufacturing operations, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
* Spearhead and manage a team of supervisors and production staff, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
* Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time delivery of products to meet customer demands.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain, to drive process improvements and resolve operational issues.
* Implement and maintain lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
* Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
* Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
* Develop and manage the manufacturing cost control measures and resource allocation.
* Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, and implement innovative manufacturing technologies and methodologies to drive operational excellence.
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting employee engagement, development, and retention.
Who You Are:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical), Operations Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
* Significant relevant experience in manufacturing operations, with a focus on process improvement and operational excellence.
* Proven track record of successfully managing and directing manufacturing teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong knowledge and experience of implementing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
* Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies.
* Strong organisational and project management skills.
* Strong management and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
* Proficient in using manufacturing software and systems for production planning, scheduling, and reporting.
* Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
