Are you looking to join a dedicated and friendly team within Theatres and Anaesthetics? Ward 1 is a 23 bedded Elective Surgical Unit, with Post-Operative care for Day cases and 23 hours overnight stays. This ward is looking for a highly motivated registered nurse to join our team.
The Role: You will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, committed to providing high quality, patient-centred care for those undergoing surgery. You will be able to communicate effectively with patients / staff and demonstrate the trusts core values within your practice. You will work alongside multidisciplinary team, welcoming patients to the unit and admitting them for surgery for a wide range of procedures under different specialities including: Urology, General Surgery, Colorectal, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Breast, Vascular, ENT and Plastics. You will assist in preparing patients for theatre, ensuring physical and administrative safety checks are completed. You will provide post-operative care for patients, assisting with their recovery to allow for a safe discharge home. The ward also provides Pain, MSK and Haematology clinics for the provision of injections and venesections. This is a rewarding role which will allow you to follow the patient's surgical journey from admission to discharge. Main duties of the job
This is an amazing opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with good communication and organisational skills. Successful candidates will be working within a multi-disciplinary team as well as autonomously, caring for pre and post-operative surgical patients. They will support the patient pathway from elective admission, post-operative care to facilitating same day discharges.
Hours of work
Monday Friday, with overnight cover Monday- Wednesday and Twilight cover Thursday and Friday.
