The successful candidate will lead a team of junior doctors and multi-disciplinary staff including Physician Associates in providing comprehensive medical care for their inpatients, clinic patients and emergency admissions. As part of a multidisciplinary team you will be committed to delivering clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with the clinical teams and commissioners. We support flexible working patterns where that may be required however, additional commitments are as follows; On-call commitments are on the acute medicine rota. They currently involve a medical admitting take approximately 1:14. (Additional 2Pas for on-call duties). There is a weekend ward rota approximately 1:12 for morning ward round seeing targeted patients on the medical wards with time off in lieu. This might be negotiable for applicants who are not currently practising GIM. The applicant should hold a CCT in General Internal Medicine or Geriatric Medicine or be within 6 months of completion.
