Job Title: Contract Manager
The role of the Contract Manager can never be fully defined, but it requires demonstrating leadership and commanding respect within the business. All decisions must be communicated clearly to responsible parties and to those to whom the post holder reports.
The Contract Manager should be proactive, aiming to continually improve operational activities. The individual must possess ambition and a high level of commitment. This role is crucial in decision-making processes, and the manager must earn the trust and loyalty of all stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership to meet local objectives and direct the commercial activities of the contract to achieve at least the budgeted financial performance.
2. Monitor the financial performance of the contract and assist in setting budgets, adhering to the company's financial and reporting procedures.
3. Contribute to the effective operation of Glendale by working with the Regional Manager to build a sound organizational structure, recruiting, training, and motivating staff according to HR policies.
4. Play a key role in securing new business opportunities, including tendering and pricing in line with the Pricing Policy.
5. Build and maintain good relationships with stakeholders, safeguarding the company's image and credibility.
6. Support health and safety initiatives by monitoring welfare within operational areas and participating in maintaining the company's safety culture.
7. Ensure adherence to quality standards, including the company's Quality Management Systems (BS EN 9001:2000 and BS EN ISO 14001:1996).
Day-to-Day Tasks:
1. Submit forecasts of sales, costs, and profits.
2. Review management accounts and produce accurate monthly forecasts.
3. Monitor stock levels and work-in-progress values.
4. Oversee the operational aspects of contracts, including vehicle and machinery requirements.
5. Evaluate and manage the organizational structure, including recruiting and disciplining staff as necessary.
6. Ensure compliance with Quality Management System procedures and health, safety, and welfare policies.
7. Liaise with client officers to:
* Agree on work schedules and priorities.
* Inspect and certify completed work.
* Negotiate additional work and associated costs.
* Agree on invoice sums and payment schedules.
1. A full, clean driving license is an essential requirement for this role.
