We are looking for a Safety, Health and Wellbeing (SHW) Assurance Specialist (Management System Lead) to join our SSEN Transmission SHW team. In this critical role, you will ensure the robustness and compliance of our SHW Management System, aligning it with SSE standards, ISO certifications, and legal requirements.
The role also involves developing, maintaining, and implementing a certifiable SHW Management System, supporting the business in mitigating SHW risks, and driving improvements through a structured assurance and audit programme.
You will
- Develop, maintain and implement a certifiable SHW Management System supporting the business in mitigating risks whilst driving improvements through a structured assurance and audit programme.
- Coordinate and be the main point of contact for external ISO audits while ensuring the Management System is aligned with ISO 45001 and 45003 standards.
- Provide critical risk-based SHW governance and assurance support, drive risk mitigation strategies, and spearhead the development and implementation of a certifiable SHW Management System.
- Maintain SHW documentation, managing audits, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop proactive risk strategies.
- Act as a key liaison between the SHW team and business stakeholders, ensuring effective communication of SHW standards and updates.
Extensive experience in the application of SHW Management Systems in electricity networks, major construction, or complex project environments.
- Degree SHW/Business Management or Lead Auditor qualification with extensive experience in SHW audit processes.
- Strong understanding of SHW legal frameworks, ISO 45001 and ISO 45003, industry regulations, policy development, risk assessment and best practices within a high-risk industry.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and support all level of stakeholders.
- Commitment to fostering a high-performance SHW culture within the organisation.

Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
