The Children's Safeguarding Advisor post is to work within the Children's Safeguarding team for Bromley Healthcare. This role involves working collaboratively with various health professionals and other agencies to ensure effective plans are in place to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
This includes working across multi-agency statutory and non-statutory organisations to respond to local and national initiatives, requirements, and legislation. Responsibilities include providing evidence-based advice, support, supervision, training, and leadership to staff involved in the care of children and their families across Bromley Healthcare, ensuring robust safeguarding supervision is implemented in accordance with the safeguarding supervision policy.
The role may also involve working as part of the MASH/Children's and Families Hub, a health team in Bromley that supports the sharing of information to ensure robust outcomes for families, and being a member of MARAC and MCC groups.
Interviews will be held on 13/3/25 and 14/3/25.

Job Responsibilities
The Safeguarding Children Specialist Advisor is an advanced practitioner, expected to demonstrate best practice in clinical responsibilities.
* Provide evidence-based advice, support, supervision, training, and leadership to staff involved in the care of children and their families.
* Work collaboratively with health professionals and other agencies to ensure effective plans are in place to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
* Undertake the role and responsibilities of safeguarding children for Bromley Healthcare as detailed in the Safeguarding Children and Young People: Roles and Responsibilities for Health Care Staff: Intercollegiate Document 2019.
* Provide safeguarding supervision, consultation, professional advice, guidance, and training to staff.
* Develop constructive relationships with multi-agency services and disciplines.
* Adhere to the NMC code of professional practice and be prepared for re-validation within personal timescale.
* Promote awareness of safeguarding and good professional practice across the organisation.
* Participate in complex case management at both single and multi-agency levels.
* Engage in local, region-wide, and national forums associated with safeguarding children.
* Ensure that the voice of the child and the promotion of anti-discrimination are incorporated into all work with children and young people.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Understanding
* Sound knowledge of NHS safeguarding structure and multi-agency working.
* Experience of assessing risk and need for children and ability to support staff in decision-making.
* Able to challenge decisions and articulate rationale effectively.
* Numerate and able to understand complex data combined with good analytical skills.
* Understanding of the wider healthcare environment.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse specialist practitioner.
* Educated to degree level or equivalent.
* Evidence of professional development.
* Minimum of 4 years' experience working in a community setting.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience working in an area of vulnerability and diversity.
Skills and Abilities
* Ability to analyze very complex issues where material is conflicting and from multiple sources.
* Capability to act upon incomplete information using decision-making skills.
* Ability to produce concise yet robust communications for dissemination to partners from a broad range of agencies, disciplines, and services.
* Experience of co-working in complex and challenging environments.
* Experience of assessing, managing risks, and escalating concerns.
* Experience of supervising staff in safeguarding.
* Experience of being the Health representative at multi-agency meetings such as MARAC/MCC/MASH.
Information Technology
* Able to use EMIS and RIO systems.
* Able to use Excel.
* Able to use databases and Word.

£49,178 to £55,492 per annum inclusive of HCAS, pro rata.
