Job summary
We are looking for a receptionist/admin to join our well established, friendly team.
You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure whilst providing outstanding customer service to our patient population, work as part of a team and, in accordance to practice protocols, ensuring we continue to deliver an efficient service.
Working Pattern : 25-30 hours per week, on a rota shift system covering the hours between 08:00am and 18:30pm, Monday-Friday. It will be a mix of both AM and PM shifts
Main duties of the job
Duties will involve assisting patients both face-to-face and over the telephone; booking appointments, sending letters, processing prescriptions, scanning, data entry, processing post, liaising with local pharmacies, GP Practices and other Health Care Services.
The ideal candidate MUST have the following essential skills/attributes
1. Reception experience/customer service
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
3. Professional "can do" attitude
4. Good IT skills and preferably experience of SystmOne
5. Be Flexible to cover holidays and sickness
6. Be Flexible in working pattern

Cockfosters Medical Centre is a friendly and innovative practice in North London. We are a two partner practice with 2 salaried GPs looking after a patient list of 7000. We are a friendly, hard working, supportive and caring team with a recognised high standard of care and service to our patients.
We are part of a successful Primary Care Network which supports the practices with additional roles such as paramedics, physiotherapist, clinical pharmacists, social prescriber, Learning Disability Coordinator, Cancer Care Coordinator, Dementia Care Coordinator, Health Inequalities Team, Child and Adult Mental Health Practitioners and a Covid vaccination hub.

The purpose of the role is to:
Offer general assistance to the practice team
To project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice
Facilitate effective communication between patients, members the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
