This role will be responsible for driving initiatives to improve and scale content review processes, as well as managing the team that ensures content (Audio/Video) going through The Orchard meets DSP metadata, infringement, Content ID, and quality guidelines. As a leader of this team, you will:
What you'll do:
* Supervise the activities, performance, and productivity of the Content Review team, the group of reviewers that are tasked with ensuring products going through The Orchard's supply chain meet DSP metadata, infringement, and quality guidelines.
* Actively contribute to content review processes, ensuring adherence to DSP guidelines while directly addressing complex cases and maintaining high standards of quality.
* Execute hands-on content reviews and quality checks to ensure compliance with established guidelines and standards.
* Staff and train new team members to follow DSP guidelines to protect The Orchard's status and standing with the DSPs.
* Steer and oversee the research and resolution of non-compliant or fraudulent content, and make recommendations to inhibit repeat instances of these issues in The Orchard catalog.
* Partner internally with other departments (Label Management, Legal) to identify, report on, and resolve issues, while providing an extraordinary level of support for our clients.
* Work closely with the Product and Tech departments to provide feedback and implement new strategies to achieve optimal operational efficiency and build on existing tools.
* Collaborate with team members to communicate roadblocks pertaining to department projects and procedures while actively participating in problem-solving and project execution.
* Stay updated on changes to the Apple Style Guide and industry best practices, recommending process enhancements to improve content quality and compliance.
Who you are:
* 5+ years experience in an operations role or supply chain environment in the entertainment industry or equivalent education/experience
* 2+ years people management experience
* Knowledge of music metadata in a digital distribution or digital streaming/download context
* Discerning eye and ear for audio and visual content; bonus points for specialized knowledge of independent music or niche genres
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; impeccable follow-up and follow-through capabilities
* Well-organized and attentive to detail
* Comfortable with high volume tasks
* Basic knowledge of copyright and current popular music landscape
* iTunes and Spotify style guide experience
* A fluency in a second language would be a preference
* Experience working with a record label, distributor, and/or digital service content management systems (e.g. iTunes Connect, YouTube CMS, VEVO Backstage, Spotify Scatman)
