Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse - Glasgow

Facilities: They are a Royal College Accredited Small Animal Practice. This means that they conform to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme. To be awarded this status, they meet strict criteria for the provision of facilities, diagnostic equipment (such as x-rays, ECG, ultrasound, and laboratory analysis), nursing care, anaesthesia, and medications. They are also approved by the RCVS as a Training Practice for Veterinary Nurses.
Team Info: They are a team of 4 surgeons, 4 RVNs, 2 ACAs, and 2 Receptionists.
Role: Due to one of their nurses taking a fantastic opportunity, our client is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them on a permanent basis.
Duties: The nursing role at this surgery comprises a range of medical and surgical responsibilities and a variety of cases. Responsibilities include assisting with hospitalised patients, dispensing medication, monitoring anaesthetic cases, preparing laboratory samples, and helping with diagnostic imaging: X-rays / Ultrasound to preoperative and post-operative patient care.
Hours:
* The general hours achieve a comfortable work-life balance, with nurses having one out of three Fridays off depending on the rota. The starting times for weekdays are either 8:30 am with a 5:30 pm finish or 9:00 am with a 6:30 pm finish.
* They also work one of four Saturdays (9-1 pm only) to support the Vet, ACA, and Receptionist.
* Hours can be tailored to fit the team, and the salary can be adjusted pro-rata accordingly.
* The rota can be customized to fit the team, with a support network in place.
Support:
* The Head Nurse and Principal Vet manage the practice. The Head Nurse still holds her ECC qualifications and is studying for her official Practice Management qualifications.
* They are currently training one of their RVNs for the ECC course, and another is keen on Schedule 3 work and Dentistry. CPD is encouraged and fully funded.
* One of their ACAs plans to pursue the Veterinary Nurse course once she gains the prerequisite grades, and as they are also an RCVS Accredited Nurse Training Practice and an RCVS Accredited Companion Animal Practice, they can facilitate this.
* The Head Nurse is a Clinical Coach for the student nurses.
Salary: A full-time position (average 40-hour week) depending on experience, for example:
* From a recently qualified £24,750.00 per annum to a more experienced nurse at £30,000.00 per annum.
Benefits: The benefits on offer will include a holiday entitlement of 28 days, including 10 public holidays. (For Good Friday, they work on a day off in lieu). Other benefit details will be discussed in the interview.
