Who are the Marketing Team?
The marketing team is part of the MCA's Communications Team. It manages the MCA's external communications activities, including its corporate identity and online presence. The marketing team also plans and delivers marketing campaigns and activities, including social media, events, publications and digital projects. Campaigns focus on improving safety at the coast and at sea for members of the public and people working in the maritime industry, such as seafarers and fishers. Our marketing work is predominantly focused on improving safety on the coast and at sea, both among recreational water users and within industry. We also work to support the growing UK maritime economy through our survey and inspection work and the UK Ship Register and UK Shipping Concierge.
Who is the Marketing Officer?
The Marketing Officer will provide support to the social media executive and marketing team to assist with the coordination and delivery of social media content, safety messaging, campaigns and events. The work will also involve assisting with other MCA corporate work such as protecting the MCA brand and growing the UK maritime economy.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Supporting the social media executive in developing and clearing engaging content for use across MCA's digital channels (currently internal intranet, X, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn)
* Supporting the marketing team with the delivery of social media content, safety campaigns, events and other digital projects
* Creating social media data and analytics reports, providing insights on performance and making recommendations to improve content output
* Assisting with the development of printed publications and marketing collateral, the monitoring of stock levels and day-to-day liaison with the fulfilment contractor
* Supporting a consistent MCA corporate identity including sub brands of HM Coastguard, UK Ship Register and UK Shipping Concierge
* Responsibility for the marketing element of the public relations inbox, logging enquiries, dealing with them or passing them onto the relevant person for action, liaising with other members of the team to ensure all queries are answered
* Developing positive relationships with MCA staff and volunteer coastguards to support their requirements
* Providing marketing assistance for colleagues
