Yarn Store Operative
Location: Hawick Mill
Hours: Full-time, Permanent, 38 hours per week (3 Shift Rotation)
Pay: £12.42
Shift pay will be paid once training period is completed. You will be training on day shift.
Who We're Looking For
The Yarn Store Operative is responsible for receiving, booking, and managing yarn stock. This role involves ensuring that yarn is accurately received, recorded, and issued as needed for internal use. The operative will play a key role in maintaining the organization and availability of yarn inventory for production or other departmental requirements.

About the Role
The Yarn Store Operative is responsible for unloading and weighing cartons from deliveries, ensuring delivery notes match the contents, and entering new stock into the Kardex system. They will also manage yarn issuance, including collecting knitting orders, withdrawing the correct yarn based on colour, batch, and weight, and delivering it to the appropriate knitting holding areas. Additionally, the operative will supply yarn to the make-up departments as needed and handle the return and booking of yarn from completed orders back into stock.
Occasionally, the operative will manage the receipt of miscellaneous deliveries, record them in the delivery book, and ensure they are delivered to the correct department. They may also participate in nightshift cycle counts or stock takes and assist with retrieving cashmere waste from the make-up area. The role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage both routine and occasional tasks effectively.
