AA Euro Group are working with a leading Main Contractor and looking for a MEP Lead to join their team for a new Data Centre Project in Wales.
Role Overview:
The MEP Lead will oversee the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works on a large-scale Data Centre project. You will lead the coordination, installation, and commissioning of all MEP systems, ensuring that works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This is a key leadership role requiring close collaboration with subcontractors, design teams, and the client.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
* Lead the MEP design coordination, installation, and commissioning for the Data Centre.
* Manage all MEP subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project plans, specifications, and client requirements.
* Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of MEP works.
Technical Oversight:
* Review and verify technical submissions, drawings, and specifications for compliance with project requirements.
* Coordinate with the design team to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems with architectural and structural elements.
* Identify and resolve technical challenges and construction issues related to MEP systems.
Quality and Safety:
* Ensure that all MEP works are completed to the highest quality standards and in line with health and safety regulations.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identifying potential risks and implementing corrective measures.
Client Liaison:
* Act as the main point of contact for the client regarding all MEP aspects of the project.
* Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
Budget and Cost Control:
* Monitor MEP-related costs, ensuring adherence to the project budget.
* Support procurement activities for MEP packages and equipment, ensuring best value for the project.
Team Leadership:
* Lead and mentor a team of MEP engineers and supervisors on-site.
* Foster a collaborative and solution-driven environment across all project stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in MEP roles, ideally with significant experience on data centre or mission-critical projects.
* Proven experience working with a main contractor on large-scale construction projects.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Membership in a relevant professional body (e.g., CIBSE, IET, IMECHE) is desirable.
Skills:
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate between different trades.
* Excellent technical knowledge of MEP systems, particularly in data centre environments.
Additional Requirements:
* Experience working with BIM and coordinating complex MEP installations.
* Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
* Knowledge of the latest safety regulations and best practices in MEP construction
