Please note this role is a double day roll - Week 1: Monday - Thursday 05:48-14:00, Friday 05:48-12:00, Week 2: Monday - Thursday 13:48-22:00, Friday 11:48-18:00. As a key member of the site Quality Team, this role has the responsibility to support the Food Safety & Quality requirements at Mizkan Euro Bury St Edmunds site are met. The Quality Team Member will proactively work with the relevant departments to support all the ME Quality System.
This role will be responsible for ensuring all the required quality checks are completed on time and in full and effectively communicated, and escalated when required, to all relevant stakeholders.
They must lead by example in embracing the two principles, which are to offer only the finest products and continuously challenge the status quo.
Responsibility – (this is not an exhaustive list)
* Proactive support of the operation teams including (but not exhaustive) manufacturing, warehousing, engineering – support and advise on any quality issues, and where unsure, escalate to appropriate supervisors and management.
* Product and raw material analysis and positive release – confirming raw materials arrive at site within specification, approving them for factory use. Ensuring that our products are manufactured within the required specification, and that all food safety parameters have been met.
* Sample collection & analysis of incoming ingredients – to ensure we only use the finest raw materials, that are within specification for quality and food safety.
* Review and verification of certificates of analysis/certificates of conformance.
* Laboratory Calibration – making sure all of our equipment is working within limits to monitor foods safety and quality parameters of the products and raw materials.
* Internal documentation audits – verifying that all checks and records are completed accurately.
* Contributing to continuous improvement from a technical standpoint – we must challenge the status quo, making sure we are doing the best we can and improving where we should.
* Organoleptic testing of raw materials & finished products – visual, smell, taste to ensure they are within specification.
* Support stock release of finished product – Mizkan and co packs products all require positive release.
* Other projects and responsibilities as delegated – we are a diverse department with many projects and processes that are continually being developed, implemented, reviewed and improved when necessary, your support may be required to add value.
* Specifications administration – transition from paper to electronic system, and assistance in administration of this process and ongoing administration of electronic system.
* Labelling and packaging checks – making sure that all labels and packaging are accurate.
* Maintenance of non-conformance database – in the event of a non-conformance, it is necessary to document and record the incident, investigate and carry out root cause analysis, and then establish corrective and preventative actions. You may be asked to input at any stage of the process to add value and support.
