Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 DOE + bonus + car + benefits

Job Description
We are seeking the right person to develop and lead a national health, safety and quality team, focusing on our three pillars of Safety, Quality and Productivity. We are always looking for the best talent to join our senior management teams across all divisions. The Head of Health and Safety will support the respective Service and Recycling Centre Managers to operate to the highest standards in all that they do, while we ensure our business continues to operate compliantly and drive future improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Working in line with legislation and regulatory requirements, ensuring personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities.
* Ensure Wastecare are working in line with corporate and operational responsibilities and objectives.
* Promoting a health and safety culture of best practice,proactive collaboration and continuous improvement and development.
* Creating initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents on site.
* Ensure Incidents and risk management systems are maintained, and procedures followed throughout the organisation and carry out accident / incident investigations in accordance with Company procedures.
* Using relevant management systems,and KPI tools, improving reporting,reduction
of LTA’s and RIDDOR.
* Audit and monitor H&S performance against legal requirements and company expectations, making recommendations for improvement.
* Carry out regular inspections of Wastecare sites to ensure compliance and that work is carried out in line with company policies, procedures, and requirements.
* Assist in development and the delivery relevant Health & Safety Training alongside HR Function.
* Working with Head of Environment to maintain the Group compliance of CMS, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001& ISO 45001 systems.
* Any other duties as reasonably required.
Requirements
* You will have a NEBOSH General as a minimum. NEBOSH diploma or COTC qualifications undertaking obligatory CPD.
* Logistics and Waste operational experience preferred.
* Tech IOSH, Grad IOSH, CMIOSH, IEMA would be desirable.
* CMS, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Management systems and audit experience.
* Significant experience of managing Health and Safety, acting as responsible person and bringing a culture of Health and Safety to an organisation.
* Leadership Experience of managing personnel and projects.
* Strong IT Skills with applied knowledge of Microsoft Office Platforms.
* Technical health, safety and ISO environmental knowledge, applicable to the business and wider industry.
* DGSA qualification is desirable.
* A confident leader who can bring fresh, innovative ideas to the organisation,
* Ability to problem solve and demonstrable operational skills, a dynamic and flexible approach to situations, work practices and processes.
* Strategic thinker who is solution focused.
* Assured presenter to all levels within the organisation.
