We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic and high calibre sports coach or Higher Level Teaching Assistant with responsibility for PE to join our energetic and dynamic team. We are looking for a confident and flexible HLTA who is happy to both teach PE and cover across the school as and when required. This post will suit a practitioner who has high expectations of themselves and their pupils and who is ambitious and driven to deliver on outcomes, both academically and in developing the whole child. We are looking to appoint a practitioner who has a passion for improving the life chances of children. The successful candidate will be self-driven and a strong team player. A to C grades in GCSE English and mathematics are essential. What we are looking for: • Someone confident to deliver on PE lesson taught across the primary range • A background in sports coaching or has a passion for teaching PE • Have good organisational skills and a good understanding of health and safety • Able to provide appropriate mentoring, support, guidance and advice to teachers and run extra-curricular activities • Highly motivated, innovative and eager to contribute to the life of the school • Have good interpersonal skills and be able to work well as part of our team Main responsibilities: • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson in PE across the whole full time • Provide after school sports clubs and extra-curricular activities as appropriate • Support teachers with the teaching of PE and monitor and support where necessary • Be the school’s Sports Lead • Support intra and inter sports competitions locally and across the borough if appropriate • Cover lessons should the need arise The ideal candidate will need enthusiasm, a strong moral compass and high expectations.
