We are seeking a dynamic Surveying Manager to lead our client's team in the preparation, execution, and delivery of land surveys.
As the Surveying Manager, you will oversee this surveying firm's business development and operational aspects. Your role will involve managing proposal development, maintaining surveying metrics, and ensuring organized reporting methods. You will collaborate closely with division heads to drive operational excellence, business growth, and strategic planning initiatives.
This is a leadership position where you will manage client relationships, evaluate surveying goals, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise staff in the preparation, reconnaissance, and delivery of land surveys
* Oversee surveying business development activities and operational functions
* Develop high-quality proposals and implement organized reporting methods
* Collaborate with division heads on operational, business development, and strategic planning matters
* Manage survey records, parcel maps, and final maps filed with Town, County, and State authorities
* Review fieldwork for accuracy and compliance with land surveying practices and legal requirements
* Analyze land, cadastral, geodetic surveys, and right-of-way maps
* Evaluate survey control and geodetic field data; contribute to the development and maintenance of a surveying database
* Review surveying work for compliance with planning and zoning regulations and accepted land surveying practices
* Interact with clients, governmental agencies, title insurance entities, and land developers on relevant matters affecting our work and legal access
Skills & Qualifications:
* Physical ability to perform occasional walking, standing, bending, and squatting
* Fine manipulation skills in both hands
* Ability to reach above and below shoulder level continuously
* Comfort working near equipment and machinery on rough, uneven, or slippery surfaces
* Tolerance for exposure to dust, gas, construction materials, noise, and varying temperatures and humidity levels
* Valid Connecticut driver’s license (or equivalent US license) required at the time of appointment
* Willingness to use personal vehicles for work-related travel and provide proof of automobile liability insurance
Salary:
* $85,000
