Permanent, part-time or full time, 16-37 hours per week

*Available for those who have been out of the care sector for over 2 years or are coming to care straight from education (e.g., college, sixth form, apprenticeship). Only available for those working in our Support to Live at Home, Supported Independence, or Short Break Services. For those applying for other services, we are offering a £250 from our own reserves.

Leading Lives provides social care support for people with learning disabilities,
autism and complex needs in the home and in the community across Suffolk and
neighbouring counties. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise, owned by our
employees. Any surplus we make is reinvested back into services for our customers
or into the local community.
We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker within our Independence
Plus service in Ipswich and South East Suffolk.
Independence Plus is a varied service providing domiciliary and community based
support to individuals with a range of requirements from the ages of 13 upwards. Our
customers have diagnoses that include Learning Disabilities, Mental health
conditions and physical disabilities. Support can vary from helping within the home,
accessing leisure activities (e.g. cinema, bowling, swimming), accessing health
services, community inclusion and much more!
This is an exciting role where no two days are the same, and one that gives
employees the opportunity to build positive relationships and deliver person centred
care in a holistic way. Due to the nature of this service a full driving licence and
the ability to work alternate weekends with occasional evenings would be essential.

As Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:
* Support a range of customers to live independently and complete day to day activities
* Identify and assist with opportunities within the local community
* Provide intimate personal care according to individual needs
* Maintain dignity and respect at all times
* Communicate effectively and sensitively with customer
* Liaise effectively with families and carers
* Where appropriate, administer medication in line with Company polic
* Whilst experience in a similar organisation/role would be advantageous, we believe that the right values and attitudes are also important when recruiting new staff

Ideally we are looking for applicants with a full driving licence and access to their
own vehicle, as per service needs.
Please note due to the nature of the work we do and our service users, all Leading
Lives appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
