What will you be doing?
We have a great opportunity available to join our Compliance Team as a Compliance Advisor.
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will help ensure that procedures, documents, and training within our operational and trading outlets comply with legal, regulatory, and internal policies.
You’ll work closely with all our sites to provide a professional and competent advisory service, conduct audits, and investigate any compliance issues.
You will have an interest in food safety that allows you to deal with food complaints, inquiries, and adequately update any policies or procedures.
This position will also involve preparing risk assessments, compliance audit programs, and proactive campaigns and initiatives to improve compliance.
As well as internal collaborations, you’ll also be liaising with enforcement authorities and external agencies (such as Trading Standards, Environmental Health, etc.) on any compliance issues.
How will I know if I am right for this role?
We are looking for someone who has a Level 3 or above in Food Safety as well as a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
You’ll need to bring knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements ideally in any of the following areas: Food Safety, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, age-restricted sales, petrol, funeral, and trading standards.
You’ll be confident in assessing risks and completing risk assessments, as well as able to coach colleagues and managers.
Working collaboratively is key to this role; therefore, excellent communication skills are essential.
Knowledge or experience of working with local authorities in an EHO or equivalent role is desirable but not essential. Membership of a relevant professional body (i.e., IOSH) would be beneficial but not essential.
