Overview of role: To work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area, for specified periods of time. Key details: Hours: Monday to Friday (shifts tbc), 37 hours per week Term-time o nly (39 weeks per year) Wage: £6.40 per hour Location: Oasis Academy New Oak, Walsh Ave, Bristol BS14 9SN Apprenticeship details: Qualification: Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification Duration of course: 16 months Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated No 1 Training Provider in the UK) All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role. Full Duties and Responsibilities: Work with individual students or small groups of students in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff. Support students to understand instructions, promote independent learning, and encourage inclusion for all students. Assist the teacher in behavior management and help keep students on task. Support students' social and emotional well-being, reporting issues to the teacher as appropriate. Prepare and organize the learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing, displaying, and presenting student work and teaching materials as directed by the teacher. Record basic student data. Facilitate student learning through play. Organize and supervise games and activities. Assist in escorting students on educational visits. Invigilate exams and tests. Support students with eating, dressing, and hygiene needs as required, while encouraging independence. Supervise students during transitions between lessons and when entering and leaving the school site. Provide first aid, subject to appropriate training.
