The Rotherham NHS FoundationTrust are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual to theBand 3 Therapy Support Worker role within the Inpatient Therapy Team atRotherham Hospital.
As a therapy support worker you will be part of alarge well-established team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists,Therapy Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Support Workers.
The team workgenerically, providing high quality care through effective team work in a fastpaced environment.
You will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team underthe direction of the therapists providing early assessment, identifying therapyneeds, delivering therapeutic health care (including manual handling,mobilisation, delivering exercises and supporting activities of daily living)and working towards early discharge from hospital. A positive and organisedapproach to rehabilitation and MDT working is essential as well as goodcommunication skills and a commitment to team working within a safe, empatheticand supportive environment.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will beexpected to work full time hours ( hours), Tuesday to Saturday between08:30 and 16:30, be suitably qualified and be able to demonstrate theirexperience relevant to the role.
The role involves working part of the MDT offeringtherapy interventions under the direction of therapists over 7 days to supportwith assessment, intervention and timely discharge planning of adult patientsacross the inpatient therapy wards within Rotherham Hospital. Part of the rolealso includes appropriate identification of onward therapy needs and timelyreferrals to community services.The patient caseload will present with a widevariety of conditions which may include cardiology, respiratory, generalsurgery, general medicine, frailty/care of the elderly,endocrinology/haematology and so on.
