Our client is a public sector organisation based in the square mile. They are currently looking to appoint a Gambling Policy Officer on a 6-month rolling contractual basis to help review their current gambling policy and procedures.
Your new role
As the successful candidate, you will helpplete a new Local Area Profile and proactively engage with responsible authorities and other stakeholders to map local risks.You will need to review the client’s existing Gambling Policy, aligning it with the new Local Area Profile and any legislative changes since the last policy was written as part of the review.As part of the job you will also carry out:
1. A formal consultation on policy changes to include residents, licence holders, members, industry representatives and other interested parties and stakeholders.
2. Review consultation responses and make rmendations to change the gambling policy where appropriate.
What you'll need to succeed
You will need to demonstrate:
3. Sound knowledge of the Gambling Act 2005 and preferably the Licensing Act 2003, Business and Planning Act 2020 and some knowledge of street trading legislation.
4. Experience of writing local authority policies and procedures.
5. Be an effectivemunicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
6. The ability to work to very strict deadlines is essential.
