Youth Engagement & Wellbeing Service (YEWS)
Project Worker 2 - Youth Wellbeing Practitioner
Could you be the highly motivated individual we are looking for? We are launching an exciting new service in Cardiff supporting the emotional wellbeing needs of young people aged 16 – 25 years, who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET).
What is the Youth Engagement and Wellbeing Service?
We understand that issues impacting young people's ability to engage with support have been exacerbated by the pandemic and cost-of-living crisis. The YEWS service is a brand-new provision that aims to deliver an integrated program of support to young people aged 16-25 years living in Cardiff and facing multiple disadvantages and difficulties sustaining education and progressing into employment.
Support will be targeted at those young people who are socially excluded, isolated, and experiencing issues such as low-level anxiety, social anxiety, or depression. The service will engage with young people using an assertive outreach approach, focusing on building strong working relationships.
YEWS will provide 1:1 and group work interventions using psycho-educational and emotional support: our holistic approach recognises the importance of overall wellbeing in enabling young people to sustain positive destinations. YEWS will help young people to develop the skills and confidence they need to move into work, training, or volunteering by delivering tailored wrap-around, long-term interventions to support them.
