We’re recruiting for a Design Lead to join the Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA). What will you be doing as our new Design Lead? Our Design Lead will play a key role in the successful delivery of the Strategic Pipeline Alliance, Work collaboratively with the Head of Engineering, Design Manager, Senior Designers and Delivery teams, to understand design needs, then manage the design team and monitor progress relating to their section of the SPA delivery programme. Monitor workload and liaise with Project Leads and Designers from all partners. Responsible for delivery of feasibility, outline and detailed design of their projects to CDM and quality standards as well as to programme and budget. Close liaison with the Delivery, Commercial and Procurement teams to ensure Design programme and requirements are developed and integrated into wider project programmes A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours…. The successful Design Lead have; Experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams and have a track record of managing a section of the design works. Experienced in managing throughout the Design Phase a section of a project, including for example civil, mechanical, electrical. Also, in delivering with a production methodology mindset, including modular designs. Understands the importance of design interactions from solutions, production, supply chain and delivery. Ability to collaborate and challenge the norm Qualifications & Experience…. A high-level of training and experience in your field of expertise, together with the ability to listen to and understand others’ expertise Provide a hub around which different disciplines can coalesce to work together to provide a design that is technically sound (and innovative where appropriate), practical, efficient and on-time.
