Our client, a renowned leader in the defence sector, is currently seeking a Principal Engineer - Systems for a contract role. The positions are located across Barrow, Filton, Coventry, and Manchester, with a requirement to be on-site for 2-3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading the integration, verification, and validation (IV&V) activities for complex electrical systems
2. Developing and managing system requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals
3. Utilising requirements management tools such as DOORS for structured system representations
4. Implementing systems engineering methodologies, specifically for requirements development and interface control
5. Designing and developing electrical power systems and operational scenarios
6. Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and industry best practices
7. Providing technical leadership and support throughout the project lifecycle
8. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project success
Job Requirements:
1. Extensive experience in electrical systems engineering, focusing on requirements development, systems integration, and technical leadership
2. Proficiency in the use of requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and EA modelling for system representation
3. Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies, particularly in requirements development, V&V planning, and interface control
4. Background in electrical power systems design and operational scenario development
5. Ability to ensure compliance with standards and industry regulations
6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
7. Flexibility to work across multiple locations with on-site presence as required
