Description Job Description Are you looking for a role that will supporting the delivery of legislation that will reform Scots private law to accommodate digital assets? You will join the Bill team that sits within the Financial Services Team, supporting legislation to provide clarity to Scottish businesses and the legal sector on the legal status of digital assets as property and, in turn, support investment and innovation. You will focus on the Bill’s Parliamentary passage, helping to develop the necessary Bill documentation and support adherence with the Bill timetable. This will require keeping up-to-date on the wider law reform policies on digital assets to ensure the effective implementation of the legislation. You will frequently engage with senior leaders, Ministers and close collaboration with wider policy officers and external stakeholders, the Law Commission of England and Wales (LCEW) and the UK Government to ensure alignment with developments in other jurisdictions, as appropriate. Responsibilities Support the Bill Team Leader on the refinement of policy instructions in light of stakeholder, Ministerial and parliamentary views during the Parliamentary passage of the bill. Lead on the drafting and on the refinement of policy instructions in light of stakeholder, Ministerial and parliamentary views. Draft Cabinet papers and Ministerial papers for key clearances. Prepare speeches and briefing for parliamentary proceedings. Develop impact assessments and other accompanying documents for the bill, including the financial memorandum. Track scrutiny of the Bill and support the Bill Team Leader in engagement with Parliamentary committees. Support with the project management of the bill process and have a good working policy knowledge of digital assets and wider financial technologies. Develop excellent relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
