The Role
No two days in consultancy are the same. As an Ekco cybersecurity consultant, you will work with clients of various sizes across multiple industries, gaining invaluable exposure to a wide range of systems and technologies. You will need to be adaptable and organised, as you will be working on multiple different projects in tandem, often delivering multiple different services.
You will work with clients on gathering information and assessing their systems and processes, requiring a keen eye for detail and exceptional interpersonal skills. You will then analyse the information gathered, prepare any supporting documentation, and present your findings to the client, necessitating comfort in compiling and presenting reports to non–technical senior executives.
Responsibilities
1. Recognized university degree or equivalent, specialising in computer science, information systems, computer forensics, or information security.
2. 3–5 years' experience in Information Technology or Cybersecurity roles, delivering advice or technical solutions to large SME or Enterprise organisations.
3. ISO 27001 lead implementor or lead auditor certification and experience.
4. Broad knowledge of information security, risk management, and corporate governance.
5. A broad understanding of Data Privacy Concepts and GDPR Compliance obligations.
6. A structured approach to problem–solving.
7. Resilient, capable initiative–taker who adapts to changing circumstances and relishes a challenge.
8. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, reporting, and presentation skills.
9. Experience in delivering and presenting reports and findings to both technical and non–technical clients.
10. Passion to establish oneself as a subject matter expert across varying security technologies with a drive to understand and explore further and emerging technologies.
11. Ability to lead technical client engagements with notable risk and complexity and develop strategies for successful project execution.
12. Creative, self–motivated, and capable of performing research in emerging security techniques and methods.
13. Proven ability to review and oversee work performed by team members, analyse problems, identify core issues, and recommend appropriate solutions.
14. Ability to assess and understand a client's security posture in line with emerging threats and associated risk, providing recommendations.
Bonus Points
1. Hold or be working towards achieving information security qualifications such as CISM, CISA, CISSP, CRISC, CIPP/E, CCSP, MCSA, OSCP.
2. Cloud security experience and certifications in Azure, AWS, and Google (e.g., AZ500, MS500, AWS certified security).
3. Industry background in Information Security Consultancy or equivalent role.
4. Experience with DORA, MICA, SOC2, NIS2, NIST, or similar frameworks.
