Overview: My client is a market-leading FMCG business based in South Wales, specialising in own-brand products. The business has enjoyed significant growth in recent years which has been facilitated by increased customer demand, continued diversification of its product range and ongoing investment from its parent company.
Two primary sites are currently in operation; a Head Office and factory in Swansea, and a recently established, highly automated plant in Cardiff. With over 500 employees across both sites, my client is committed to recruiting talented and driven professionals to join the business on its impressive growth journey.
Job Specification: Responsible for leading and managing the Operations Function, designing the operational strategy to ensure that all business objectives are fully realised.
Lead and manage senior stakeholders and site leadership in the interest of leading both sites and facilitating organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Overall accountability for the Operations function across both sites within the business, overall accountability for the delivery of operational key performance indicators.
2. Coach, develop and review performance of team to increase the overall quality of Operations within the business, operating as a business leader.
3. Act as the operational lead within the business and lead the senior management team to deliver the wider business strategy.
4. Contribute to the formulation of the business financial budget and ensure ongoing compliance with respect to output, resource and maintenance.
5. Liaise across all functional/departmental areas to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and ensure that Direct reports are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements.
6. Maintain a cost effective and appropriate operating model, embedding standards and principles across the business to maximise productivity, the sharing of best practice and commercial benefit.
7. Ensure that the business has the necessary manpower, competence, skills, knowledge and tooling required to achieve production targets in accordance with customer requirements.
8. Ensure production processes, equipment, facilities and the working environment are conducive to producing high quality products.
9. Promote a culture of high employee engagement and motivation where the needs of the company are balanced with the needs of individuals.
10. Promote and maintain awareness and compliance of Health and Safety in accordance with best practice and legal requirements.
Candidate Profile:
Ideally, degree qualified in manufacturing, engineering, food science or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications:
* IOSH
* HACCP
Experience:
* At least 2 years experience in a similar position managing a multi-function site.
* Food manufacturing related experience.
* Experience of change management environments.
