About the Role:
As the Senior Quality Engineer, you will serve as the main representative of the Quality department, interacting daily with operations, customers, and suppliers. This pivotal role involves maintaining supervisory responsibility over the internal Quality Department and driving quality improvements across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and support to the Quality team while deputizing for the UK Quality Manager as needed.
2. Act as the primary liaison for the Quality department with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
3. Ensure timely resolution of all customer issues and returns, meeting department requirements.
4. Oversee corrective and preventive action processes to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
5. Analyze customer issues and trends to pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
6. Organize and manage the internal audit schedule, ensuring timely completion of all audits.
7. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure they meet our quality standards and requirements.
8. Manage the First Article Inspection (FAI) Report per AS9102 standards and authorize Initial Sample Inspection Reports for new components.
9. Provide quality input during design and process reviews to ensure first-time manufacturing success.
10. Implement measures that enhance production methods, product quality, and efficiency.
11. Develop and maintain written policies and procedures for the Quality Management System.
12. Assist with third-party audits, including certification and customer audits.
Qualifications and Experience
1. A minimum of five years of experience in a Quality function within an engineering-based manufacturing environment.
2. Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
3. Experience in preparing ISIR, FAIR, and PPAP documents.
4. Proficiency in Quality Management Systems and problem-solving methodologies.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with customers and suppliers.
6. Ability to utilize statistical analysis techniques, particularly with Microsoft Excel.
7. A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
