Job Title: Graduate / Junior Maritime Civil Design Manager

What You’ll be doing:
As an integral part of the Design Management team, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of projects from inception to completion through the development of the RIBA design stages. You’ll provide effective design solutions through the interpretation of design briefs and offer discipline expertise to designs across asset streams.
As part of the waterfront engineering team reporting to the Principal Waterfront Design Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with multi-discipline engineering teams. You’ll also be responsible for effectively delivering and managing design solutions for small to medium-sized projects, from inception to in-service.
Supporting and advising the client regarding design elements, you’ll ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the processes and procedures in the KBS Joint Management System.
You’ll Have:
A professional working interest in infrastructures, specifically waterfront structures, foundations, and peripheral engineering such as gangways, utilities, and buildings.
Understanding the full engineering lifecycle from inception to in-service, you’ll have working knowledge of building regulations and British standards for civil works, as well as relevant regulations including PUWER, LOLER, CDM Regulations, and temporary works.
Your ability to work directly with the client with minimal supervision will provide a positive link to the wider design management remit. You’ll be a logical thinker who can identify risks at early stages for mitigation.
About you:
You’ll have a Degree / HND or equivalent of BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or sub-disciplines, coupled with fluency in IT systems. You’ll be working towards professional recognition through a relevant scientific association.
As a strong communicator, you’ll have the ability to influence and showcase negotiation skills. With evidence of previous development towards building good working relationships, you’ll also display excellent organisational skills, presentation competencies, and values in line with the business.
