The Role
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you'll have a unique role. You will maintain the engineering configuration, ensuring the overall design intent and integrity is sustained throughout the design lifecycle.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Promoting effective cooperation across Engineering and other functional teams.
2. Assisting in the effective management of the customer through liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers.
3. Aiding the development of business and resolution of technical and delivery issues; ensuring the customer is well-informed of progress.
4. Ensuring procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
5. Communicating and managing task and project risks appropriately.
6. Producing, reviewing, and approving calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation, and technical reports as assigned.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week, and is based at our Preston site, providing hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Essential Experience
We seek candidates who:
* Own and deliver results, championing high performance and courage to challenge the status quo.
* Have knowledge of CAD tools and General Engineering Drawing Practice.
* Can build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders.
* Have experience leading a team.
* Come from diverse engineering backgrounds; nuclear experience is not a necessity.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications for the Principal Mechanical Engineer:
* Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Holds or has the ability to obtain Chartered status.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
