Band 6 Governance Facilitator
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse who is passionate about quality and patient safety and would like to further their development in organisational, leadership and management skills in a Band 6 role.
The post holder will be enthusiastic and have a good understanding of clinical governance along with clinical experience working within a critical care setting.
Post holder requirements:
First level registered nurse with 2.5 years of relevant clinical experience in both level 2 and level 3 care
Evidence of post basic learning in the Critical care specialist pathway and continual professional development
Flexibility and strong organisational skills
Enthusiasm and motivation to ensure high quality, safe care is delivered to patients
Effective communication, leadership and teaching skills
Evidence of governance structure
Experience of staff development, delegation and supervision of staff
Ability to interact effectively with peers and junior and senior colleagues
Key responsibilities:
Be responsible for the assessment, delivery and evaluation of patient care according to individual patient need in clinical practice. Recognise, priorities and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Promote & establish effective team working & communication, representing the speciality at local & Trust meetings.
Demonstrate ability to manage change through the implementation of new practices, provide feedback to staff.
Ability to work with the Datix system, and have an understanding how to produce reports.
Take an active role in self development, objectively reviewing own performance in terms of management, clinical practice and decision making.

To work alongside and support the Critical Care Governance lead and Critical Care Matron in providing a high quality service to all key stakeholders and users across
the organisation.
Deputising at meetings where appropriate and working alongside other governance leads within the acute pathway.
To provide specialist advice to the Critical Care Department regarding legislation, guidance and the regulatory framework relevant to the management of clinical risk and to improve clinical standards and patient safety.
To support Governance Lead with the identification of risks associated within the speciality; help to develop and implement action plans, attend local and speciality and pathway meetings, reporting progress on an ongoing basis.
To provide guidance and support in the implementation of clinical standards (quality) initiatives in line with the Trust’s clinical risk management and Health and safety
framework.
To support the investigation and analysis of incidents associated or related to the speciality or its work streams, developing and implementing actions plans, providing
feedback, quarterly reviews/reports as appropriate.
