We are looking to recruit an experienced Cardiac Physiologist / Healthcare Scientist to work in Echocardiography as part of our Diagnostic Cardiology team.

The post holder will undertake routine and complex diagnostic transthoracic echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound investigations and interpret results to provide an accurate clinical report that can be clearly understood by a physician not experienced in echocardiography and adheres to local and national guidelines.
Interested applicants should possess:
1. BSc in Clinical Physiology
2. MSc Clinical Science (Cardiac, Vascular, Respiratory and Sleep Sciences)
3. BTEC / HNC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurements
4. RCCP / AHCS / HCPC registration
Would consider part-time applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the Cardiac Ultrasound Service for the STHT by providing a high standard of work within Echocardiography.
2. Provide leadership, training, and education in the clinical areas, enabling staff to develop the clinical skills and competencies required to deliver a high-quality diagnostic echo service.
3. Work alongside other senior members of the team to deliver a highly intensive in-house Echo training programme.
4. Support the development of a regional Echo Training website.
5. Undertake clinical supervision and training of other qualified professionals (including physicians), junior and trainee physiological staff.
6. Liaise effectively with the Lead Echocardiographer and Lead Trainer in Echo to ensure that departmental and BSE guidelines are maintained and up to date with current clinical and technical practice.
7. Help develop specialist services and participate in other CPD activities to maintain own competencies.
