The Ministry of Defence (MOD) provides an occupationally focused HealthCare Service. Our Specialist Occupational Health (OH) services encompass the medical aspects of an individual's fitness for work, to include employment, deployment, health surveillance, rehabilitation, provision of advice to commanders, assessment of health on leaving the Armed Forces and (Army only) ill-health retirement. It is a key contributor to force preparation, force multiplication and force sustainment, and is a common thread through all health and wellbeing interventions.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Health Clinician to join our vibrant and fast-paced organisation that seeks to sustain and improve the operational efficiency of injured service personnel by supporting the delivery of a peripatetic occupational health service. The vacant post is part-time working 37.5 hours per week. Requests to work flexibly will be considered, taking into account business needs. Could this be the role for you? Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the delivery of a peripatetic Occupational Health (OH) service which requires travel between the base location and the assigned units.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Manage own clinical caseload and proactively support the Service Person (SP) through their clinical pathway in accordance to best practice, current legislation, and Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) policy.
* Participate in clinical supervision provided by clinical lead and engage in Performance Appraisal Development Review (PADR).
* Provide clinical advice and training on the clinical value of Occupational Health (OH) to other members of the multidisciplinary team, and external agencies/organisations as requested.
* Provide specialist, person-centred care which considers safety, privacy and dignity using advanced clinical knowledge.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* An Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse with current registration with an appropriate governing and regulatory body (HCPC or NMC).
* Current certificate of Hepatitis B, Rubella, Measles and Varicella immunity.
* Current Driving Licence. (This role is peripatetic and cannot be delivered using public transport).
Experience
* Experience in Occupational Health.
* Experience of Armed Forces healthcare, either in the single service or tri-service environment.
