The Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative individual looking to start or grow their career in Visual Merchandising. As a Visual Merchandising Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our visual merchandising team across our three southeast London locations and our Mayfair store. Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, you will assist in ensuring the brand DNA is consistently reflected in all displays while keeping the customer experience at the heart of everything we do. You will have an eye for detail, a keen interest in visual merchandising, and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver exceptional store layouts.
Job Purpose
The Visual Merchandising Assistant supports the team in creating attractive and engaging visual displays that enhance the shopping experience and drive sales. This role provides hands-on experience in retail visual merchandising, offering an opportunity to develop creative and commercial skills while promoting The Nunhead Gardener brand.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in creating and maintaining visually appealing displays throughout the store.
2. Support the implementation of seasonal themes, new product launches, and promotional displays.
3. Help with planning and executing range changes within the store.
4. Provide feedback to the team on customer responses to displays and key product lines.
5. Stay updated on lifestyle, demographic, and design trends to contribute ideas for displays.
6. Assist in maintaining high standards of customer service and care.
7. Support the team in caring for and presenting products, including plants, ensuring they are watered, rotated, and displayed appropriately.
8. Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
9. Help to identify and address slow-moving or damaged stock, ensuring store standards are maintained.
10. Contribute ideas for improving store layouts and visual merchandising processes.
11. Maintain a tidy and organized workspace and ensure all displays are completed efficiently.
Experience, Skills, And Traits Required
1. A passion for visual merchandising and creativity with an eye for design and detail.
2. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
3. Ability to work as part of a team and contribute ideas to enhance store displays.
4. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
5. Basic knowledge of plants and gardening is desirable but not essential.
6. Physically fit and able to lift a variety of garden centre products.
7. A customer-focused mindset and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
8. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and tasks.

This is a flexible hours role of up to 40 hours per week. Working hours will include weekends and Bank Holidays as required.
