Mō te tūranga - About the roles:
We are looking for the equivalent of 2.5 positions to cover Christchurch, Selwyn and Ashburton as an extension to our current team. This may involve travel to these areas and/or applicants may reside in one of these areas.
The purpose of these positions is to come alongside people and help them gain control over their finances by providing quality Financial Mentoring services. Using compassion, best practice and sound independent judgment, analysis skills and experience you will assist whanau in building financial capability. Through education, guidance, and support in financial matters, you will help develop peoples' confidence in money and financial skills. In basic terms, sharing your budgeting skills to help people manage money better, reduce and/or clear problem debt, and save for future expenses.

Our ideal people will have:
4. Completed the Financial Mentor FinCap Training with at least 6 months of employment experience.
5. Experience working in a Financial Mentoring, with very good understanding of financial literacy.
6. Social service experience preferred, and experience working with a wide range of people.
7. Advocacy and negotiation skills,
8. Compassion, regard for and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life with and for people
9. An awareness of the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges of poverty.
10. An understanding and appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
11. Computer competency in the Microsoft Office Suite

Hours of work: negotiable Permanent Full-time or Permanent Part-time (equivalent to 2.5 FTE) during office hours ( Monday to Friday )
The starting salary for this role will fall between $57,000 and $64,000 per annum (based on 37.5 hours/week) and based on FinCap experience.
