The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor. This role will involve providing a range of Occupational Health services and advice which meet the needs of both the company and its employees.
Role Responsibilities
* Ensure robust compliance with company and departmental policies and procedures through the delivery of OH services.
* Provide advice for management and employees re: policies and procedures relating to Occupational Health and Safety.
* Promote workplace health and well-being.
* Work closely with the Occupational Health Physician and Physiotherapist on improvement plans.
* Support management in the investigation of work-related ill health.
* Perform drug and alcohol testing in line with the company drug and alcohol policy.
* Input into site workplace risk assessments to ensure that OH risks are sufficiently captured and controlled.
* Accept, triage, monitor and review referrals for sickness absence or work related ill health or injury.
* Provide advice and recommendations in order to facilitate an effective return to work.
* Maintain accurate confidential employee OH records in accordance with GDPR, NMC and company requirements.
About You
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
* Qualified as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse in Occupational Health.
* Accreditation in Audiometry and Spirometry is essential.
* Experience in drug & alcohol testing, biological monitoring and vision screening is a distinct advantage.
* IT skills, particularly MS Office and an OH software packages.
* Strong communication skills.
Days/Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with flexible start and finish time between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 – 18:00
