Our friendly team at Melton Short Breaks and supported living are seeking two Care Services Team Leader’s to join us.
Victor Avenue / Halifax Drive supported living provides support across two services, within the purpose-built short breaks / respite unit in Melton Mowbray, and within tenant’s own homes, supporting adults with learning disability, Autism, Physical disabilities and Sensory impairments.

About the Role
If you are a confident person with previous managerial experience of supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and related health needs, then this role could be perfect for you! We are looking for dynamic and compassionate individual’s ready to take on a new challenge who can help us to continue delivering high quality care and support to adults with learning differences (disability).
Line manage a team of support staff, providing regular, high-quality supervision, acting as the first point of contact for advice and ensuring that staff are provided with the continuing professional development staff need, to excel in their role.
You will help us maintain high quality services through effective audit systems and ensure we deliver outcome focussed care and support. You will have the skills to identify risks complete risk assessments and have a good knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
You will provide direct care and support to people who use our services and have the ability to motivate and support our committed team and promote the right values and celebrate individuality and diversity.
You will be responsible for the safe storage, organisation, administration and documentation of Medication at the establishment in adherence with departmental policies and procedures.
You will work in accordance with Leicestershire County Council’s Employee Code of Conduct, Skills for Care Code of Conduct for Adult Social Care Workers.
We will provide the training, and you will have a team behind you to mentor, coach and support your journey.
We will meet the training costs and the DBS enhanced check (Adults Barred List) for a regulated activity required for this post.
About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to meet all of the following:
* Demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality care and support, and maximising independence.
* Be responsive to meet the changing needs of a 24/7 service. Must be able to work flexibly and participate in a staff rota that incorporates working weekends and bank holidays.
* Can assist with the moving and handling of people using available equipment.
* Have supervisory/managerial experience OR suitable level of experience in a social care setting.
* Have the ability to analyse information to be able to reach defensible decisions (demonstrating the use of risk management tools);
* Be able to manage the referral process for the support service, assessing new referrals and making joint decisions with Registered Manager regarding placements.
* Demonstrate sound regulatory knowledge on the Fundamental Standards set by the Care Quality Commission.
