DN Colleges Group is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Fabrication & Welding to join our Engineering department. This role involves delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences, assessing students, and acting as a programme tutor for a caseload of students. Scope and Purpose of the Role: As a Lecturer in Fabrication & Welding, you will be responsible for teaching and assessing students in this specialism. You will ensure the quality of the student learning experience, manage student morale and discipline, and maintain accurate records. Your role will also involve curriculum development and building relationships with industry partners to enhance the learning experience. Essential Criteria: Relevant Fabrication & Welding qualification at Level 3. Minimum Level 2 Maths and English. Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of the relevant curriculum. Experience of embedding English and Maths in lessons. Proven high standard of teaching skills or potential to attain outstanding teaching. Innovative use of resources, including virtual learning environments. Effective behaviour management and student motivation skills. Commitment to achieving high standards for all students. Daily Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality teaching on a range of courses within Fabrication & Welding. Develop Maths and English in lessons for all students. Use innovative and creative teaching techniques, including new technologies. Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessments. Act as a programme tutor, monitoring student absences and behaviour. Set challenging personal targets for students and support their achievement. Liaise with course teams, student support, and parents/carers. Participate in curriculum development and quality assurance processes. Engage in promotional activities and recruitment events. Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the learning environment. Stay updated in your specialist area and participate in professional development.
