The Role This role is an exciting opportunity for a customer-focussed IT support Technician starting out in their career. The role is based in Ripley, Derbyshire. Reporting to the UK IT Support & Operations Team Leader, and working alongside one other IT Support Technician. This role will be the first point of contact for UK IT support, providing effective end user support for UK employees at local and remote sites by promptly addressing enquiries, problems and requests relating to IT needs. IT Support Technician Key Responsibilities For The Position Include Support Provide e-mail, telephone and remote support to UK /IE users with IT issues Provide on-site support as required at all UK sites, this will include sites visits at least quarterly Ensure all user issues / requests are logged on internal systems, monitor and completed to resolution Assisting with telephony migrations to Teams telephony Testing and implementation of new services Day to day user requests with users in factory, office and sales environment Operations Install and maintain user devices and software ensuring maximum availability Ensure devices are compliant with all internal controls Carry out network maintenance functions Maintain network system access profiles Maintain documentation to ensure UK team members and users have resources to resolve issues Ensure backups are completed and recovery procedures understood Windows 10 migrations to Windows 11 Working with Azure/Vmware Projects Initiate and / or provide management and support for internal and external generated IT related site improvement projects at UK sites The Successful Person Must Have Either previous experience of working in an IT support role or university level education in an IT specific course. A basic knowledge of Active Directory, maintaining users and groups and basic VMware knowledge A basic knowledge of Azure and cloud technologies A basic knowledge of cyber security principles Ability to focus on customer needs and satisfaction, providing a good level of customer service Excellent interpersonal skills to establish good working relationships with the ability to communicate on a technical and non-technical level to all levels of organization Exhibit enthusiasm for personal growth and demonstrate a willingness to learn and further develop their skills.
