An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the Estates team at Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust. The main objective of the role is to proactively work and provide assurance that our premises and Estate are in the best possible condition and compliant with the relevant Building Regulations, relevant NHS Estates guidance, and statutory regulations.
The role of Water Hygiene Operative is to ensure that aspects of Water Hygiene and maintenance within the Estate at WAHT are compliant with relevant NHS Estates guidance and statutory regulations.
Main duties of the job
To participate in the provision of an Estates service primarily undertaking day-to-day inspections, repairs, planned maintenance, installation, and minor improvements to the hot and cold water systems.
The post is county-wide, and candidates will work at all Trust sites.
Some out-of-hours work is anticipated to gain access to problematic areas.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 2 NVQ or equivalent in literacy
Skills/Knowledge
* Able to use hand and simple machine tools
* Installation and repair of plumbing and pipework, calorifiers, pumps, and valves. Knowledge of safe isolation of water services.
* Knowledge of basic health and safety
* Healthcare safe systems of work
* Ability to communicate effectively through emails, written & spoken communication, and non-verbal communication.
* Polite and presentable, able to understand and carry out complex tasks accurately, good spoken communication skills, able to relate to the general public, able to work effectively as part of a team, able to keep calm and work effectively under pressure.
* Able to work outside core hours when required.
Experience
* Experience of maintenance repair and minor installations of domestic/healthcare water and drainage systems.
* Experience working in a healthcare environment.
* Experience working with contractors. Basic understanding of working safely with disinfection chemicals.
