Key Responsibilities:
1. Schedule and Coordinate Dispatches:
Assign shipments, deliveries, or vehicles to drivers based on priority, location, and urgency.
Monitor schedules to ensure timely delivery and pickup of goods.
Communicate with drivers or field personnel to provide updates on schedules, traffic conditions, and route changes.
2. Track Deliveries:
Keep track of delivery times, delays, and potential issues to ensure smooth operations.
3. Liaise with Clients and Stakeholders:
Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, drivers, and the company.
Provide real-time updates to customers on delivery schedules and potential delays.
Address client inquiries, complaints, and special requests.
4. Maintain Accurate Records:
Keep detailed records of dispatch logs, delivery reports, and any issues that arise during transportation.
Update internal systems to reflect the status of each delivery or dispatch.
5. Problem Solving and Incident Management:
Respond to and resolve issues such as delays, accidents, and route changes.
6. Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all dispatch operations comply with company policies, safety regulations, and local laws.
Monitor drivers’ working hours to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
7. Coordinate Emergency Dispatches (if applicable):
In emergency services (such as police, fire, or ambulance), handle emergency calls, prioritize incidents, and send out the appropriate personnel.
Provide guidance and instructions to field personnel during emergency situations.
Skills:
1. Experience:
Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or fleet management is preferred.
2. Skills:
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with drivers, customers, and team members.
Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and resolve operational or logistical issues.
Technology Proficiency: Experience with dispatch software, GPS systems
