My client based in Newbury is looking for a Quantity Surveyor with 2+ years of experience in the construction industry to work with the Buying, Contracts, Estimating & Finance Departments. Reporting to the Operations Director and Department Heads.
Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor
1. Cost Reconciliation Reporting
2. Coordinating monthly reporting from CM’s
3. Reviewing CM’s monthly cost reports
4. Completing monthly project cost report summary for the board
5. Tracking changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections in line with these.
6. Contract Cashflow
7. Coordinating CM’s monthly project cashflow updates
8. Updating contract master cashflow
9. Groundwork Procurement
10. Bills of Quantities
11. Tender packages and tender return analysis
12. Placing PO’s and managing cost budgets
13. Groundwork Valuations
14. Agreeing GW valuations on major projects in conjunction with CM
15. Settling Final Accounts
16. Estimating Department
17. Production of groundwork BoQ’s at tender stage for specialist projects
Key Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor
1. 2+ years QS experience within the construction sector
2. Good IT skills and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
3. Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
4. The ability to work in a team
5. Negotiation skills
6. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
