Job Summary
The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate stock inventory across ambient, chilled, and frozen ingredients, including off-site storage locations. This role ensures stock accuracy, minimizes waste, and supports the efficient movement of inventory while adhering to company policies and food safety regulations. The Inventory Controller plays a key role in stock tracking, auditing, and coordination with warehouse and procurement teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Stock Monitoring & Management: Oversee stock levels across all storage areas, ensuring accurate records for ambient, chilled, and frozen ingredients.
2. Inventory Control: Conduct regular stock checks, cycle counts, and audits to prevent discrepancies and improve accuracy.
3. Stock Rotation & Quality Control: Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) practices are followed to maintain product quality and minimize waste.
4. Data Entry & Reporting: Maintain inventory records in management systems, generate reports, and provide data insights to support stock optimization.
5. Supplier & Warehouse Coordination: Assist with receiving deliveries, verifying stock levels, and communicating with suppliers and warehouse teams.
6. System Management: Use inventory management software (e.g., SAP, WMS, ERP) to track stock movements and update records in real time.
7. Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to food safety, storage, and handling regulations, as well as company policies.
8. Problem-Solving: Investigate stock variances, report discrepancies to the Inventory Manager, and suggest corrective actions.
9. Support Demand Planning: Work closely with the Inventory Manager and procurement teams to forecast stock needs and ensure availability.
Skills & Experience Required
1. Experience: Previous experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or stock management, preferably in food manufacturing, FMCG, or logistics.
2. Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, WMS, ERP) and Microsoft Excel.
3. Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy in stock tracking and data entry.
4. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple stock categories across different temperature zones.
5. Communication: Strong teamwork and coordination skills to work effectively with warehouse, procurement, and supply chain teams.
6. Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve stock discrepancies efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Certification or training in inventory management, supply chain, or logistics.
2. Experience working with perishable goods and cold storage inventory.
3. Knowledge of food safety and storage regulations.
