We are looking to hire a passionate Quality Technician with a good eye for detail. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. You also be required to maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement. This opportunity is open for applicants with either Quality or Inspection experience with experience within a Manufacturing and/or Engineering environment. Your responsibilities will include: Developing and maintaining company inspection reports Inspecting goods or products according to quality and safety standards, ensuring goods and products comply with engineering drawings, specification and standards Take responsibility for decisions around releasing product to customers and guide production operators in quality based decision making Management, control and administration of the calibration process, ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly Reporting quality anomalies Collating test data and issuing quality reports Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes Lead internal issues investigations, collaborating with other departments, ensuring satisfactory corrections are in place. Participate and support in the on-site customer Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) process Undertake incoming inspections of both commercially available and in house designed parts from external Suppliers and internal manufacturing units Independent inspection and testing of manufactured products and assemblies Ensuring that the “End Item Data Packs” are complete and correct Issue MRB’s, Internal Inspection Reports, and SNCR’s as required Ensure all Internal Inspection Reports are closed in the timely manner and effective corrective actions implemented Apply if you have most of the following: To ensure success as a Quality Technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of inspection processes and test equipment, high degree of competence in interpreting technical drawings, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Above all you will be passionate about Quality and keen to work within a dynamic and busy environment. Technical Competencies: Excellent knowledge and experience of inspection processes and test equipment. High-level of visual awareness. Experience drafting reports and collating data. Substantial experience of operating in an ISO9001 Quality Systems environment. Knowledge of quality tool for fault diagnosis and root cause analysis. A high degree of competence in interpreting technical drawings, specification, tolerances and drawing symbols. Must be competent in use of basic measuring equipment e.g. Vernier, micrometer etc. Experience in weld fabrication processes (desirable) Use of Q-Pulse (desirable). Experience of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principals (desirable). Knowledge of ERP systems e.g. IFS, CMM or laser scanning (desirable). Experience: Experience working in a manufacturing environment as an inspector or quality technician Knowledge of manufacturing processes. Including: MIG and TIG welding, joining technology, metal fabrication techniques, electrical and pneumatic systems, machining techniques and painting systems Weld Inspection experience to CSWIP3.0 (desirable) Auditing and Assessment processes and techniques Excellent written and verbal communication skill A dditional local needs Hold a full UK driving license. Willing to visit Customer/Supplier, ad hoc meetings.
