Head of Compliance and Building Safety needed in Huddersfield, £54,317 to £55,267 PA – Reference: 0009 2002 / 1
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and coordinate the development and delivery of a robust regime for building safety management and related compliance and performance reporting. Support the Head of Service in establishing overall asset strategies, investment profiles and option appraisals based on up to date, reliable building safety data.
2. Coordinate the collection, management and use of building safety data to enable timely actions to be taken and compliance maintained. Work collaboratively with colleagues and other key enablers and partners to develop and deliver programmes of work, commissioning specialist input where required.
3. Support the team to introduce and implement Standard Operating Procedures in line with Service EQFM approach. Reviewing and updating procedures to reflect changing circumstances, learning and good practice.
4. Develop an approach to risk management across the 6 key compliance areas that is integrated with other asset activity and ensures risk responses are proportionate and effective.
5. Ensure that the service area maintains up to date knowledge of regulatory frameworks affecting building safety and that staff are adequately trained and supported to undertake their responsibilities.
6. Advise the Accountable Person and relevant groups and Boards of any breaches of the required standards and the plans in place to address this.
7. Champion the delivery of the Asset Management Strategy, ensuring that policies and plans help us to deliver the Housing Standard.
8. Oversee a team of building safety technical specialists and provide line management for managers assigned in the structure.
9. Guide and support the development and delivery of resident engagement about building safety, helping residents to understand our strategies and plans and their role in keeping themselves and others safe.
10. Monitor and support the commissioning and procurement of suppliers, contractors and consultants while managing quality and value for money delivered across the service area.
11. Oversee the investigation of complaints, ensuring they are dealt with efficiently and promptly in line with policy & procedures, putting in place solutions and strategies to address gaps or failings in the service.
12. Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to monitor and manage the delivery of building safety works and improvements to provide safe, secure homes and quality services that help to support tenant satisfaction.
