We have a vacancy of Group Technical Designer. This post owns and maintains Technical Design Standards and regulatory compliance aspects of overall Concepts and supports regions with local on-going compliance with Technical Designs
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Owns and maintains Technical Design Standards (including Construction Specifications) documentation (in central library, managing version control), translating Concepts into practical guidance that are compliant with regulation (local and national) for regions to design and build
* Works with each region to apply Technical Standards accurately to house design, understanding and mitigating any exceptions as required (i.e. from Local Planning Authority requests)
* Undertakes site build assessments to track compliance against Technical Guidance, understanding any further discrepancies, developing mitigations and updating Technical Guidance if issues are systematic across regions
* Ensure that all house type and detailed drawings meet NHBC requirements.
* Ensure all relevant consultant and supplier information is compatible and incorporated into core range of house types to enable the preparation of support information.
* Ensures regions are equipped with the knowledge, rationale and good practice to apply Technical Standards, including sharing good practice
* Acts as an escalation point for ‘Groups’ opinion, including addressing challenging requests from local inspectors, authorities and other key stakeholders
* Tracks and reports on compliance with new updates to Technical Guidance to ensure required benefits and compliance are delivered quickly and consistency
* Manages special projects, such as pilots for ESG innovation
We’re looking for the following skills or experience:
* Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent
* Excellent CAD knowledge, preferably Revit based
* Project Management
* Experienced in stakeholder management
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
